In this research article, the analysis explores into George R.R. Martin's complex combining of historical allegory from the 15th-century The War of the Roses into his epic fantasy, A Clash of Kings. The analysis reveals similarities between important historical characters from Westeros, including Richard III and Henry VII, and shows how the political complexities of real-world inspiration are reflected in the fictional battles of the book. Beyond war scenes, the research highlights the significance of family dynamics in historical and fictional contexts, suggesting parallels between The War of the Roses and the power struggles in the Seven Kingdoms. Additionally, the narrative complexities in A Clash of Kings are examined, highlighting the seamless blending of historical events into the fantasy plot. For instance, the conflict between the Starks and the Lannister’s recalls images of the York’s and Lancaster’s historical struggles (Neubauer 30; Martin 245). Ultimately, this article indicates that Martin's novel serves as a bridge between historical events and the fantastical world of Westeros, providing readers with a rich and engaging experience that goes beyond genre and era conventions.
