Plagiarism Policy

Literary Voice maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism undermines the integrity of academic research and violates ethical publishing standards. To ensure the originality and credibility of all published work, the journal adheres to the following policies and procedures:

 

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to: 

- Copying text, data, or ideas from another source without proper acknowledgment. 

- Reproducing one’s own previously published work without citation (self-plagiarism). 

- Paraphrasing or rephrasing content from another source without appropriate attribution. 

- Submitting work that is not entirely original or has been published elsewhere. 

Detection of Plagiarism

- All submissions to Literary Voice are screened using plagiarism detection software to identify potential instances of plagiarism. 

- Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content will be subject to further investigation by the editorial team. 

Consequences of Plagiarism

  1. For Published Articles:

   - If plagiarism is detected after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will: 

     - Request the author(s) to submit a formal letter of apology to the original author(s) of the plagiarized work. 

     - Remove the article from the journal’s website and issue a retraction notice. 

     - Notify the author(s)’ institution or employer about the ethical violation. 

  1. For Submissions Under Review:

   - If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the manuscript will be immediately rejected. 

   - The author(s) involved will be banned permanently from submitting to Literary Voice. 

  1. For Minor or Unintentional Plagiarism:

   - In cases of minor or unintentional plagiarism (e.g., improper citation or paraphrasing), the author(s) will be given an opportunity to revise the manuscript and address the issues. 

Author Responsibilities

- Authors must ensure that their submissions are entirely original and properly cite all sources used in their work. 

- Authors should avoid self-plagiarism by clearly indicating and citing any previously published work included in their submission. 

- Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reproduce any copyrighted material (e.g., text, images, data). 

Editorial Responsibilities

- The editorial team is committed to maintaining the integrity of the publication process and will take all necessary steps to address plagiarism. 

- Editors will handle plagiarism cases in accordance with COPE guidelines, ensuring fairness and transparency in the investigation process. 

Appeals Process

- Authors may appeal a plagiarism decision by providing a detailed explanation and evidence to support their case. 

- Appeals will be reviewed by the editorial team, and a final decision will be made based on the merits of the case.
